چکیده
Abstract Purpose The interest in using bioresidues produced by the agri-food industry is increasingly intrinsic to world economy. As such, researchers started look for new ways enhance its use, developing innovations transform these residues into high-value raw materials with industrial application, promoting circular economy concept. Methods Therefore, pruning from production of Vaccinium myrtillus L. could be an interesting exploitation field, given position as a superfood due well-known antioxidant properties. antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-tyrosinase, and cytotoxicity potentials aqueous hydroethanolic extracts V. aerial parts were evaluated. Results From obtained results, ultrasound-assisted maceration found effective as, if not more than, conventional antibiotics against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus . Aside antibacterial activity, also showed anti-tyrosinase effects, which favourably related level caffeoylquinic acid derivatives. Conclusion results highlight bioactive potential importance exploiting this bio residue novel candidate taking advantage their biological Graphical

Extraction of Bioactive Polyphenols with High Antioxidant Activity from Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus L.) Processing Waste
Bioactive polyphenols were extracted from the peel fraction of bilberry processing waste using aqueous ethanol as solvent. A response surface methodology was used to evaluate the effects of liquid-to-solid ratio (R), solvent composition (C), extraction time (E) and temperature (T) on the extraction yield. The following optimal conditions were determined: R = 30 mL/g, C = 57%, E = 160 min, T = 4...
متن کاملFlavonoid Biosynthesis in Bilberry (vaccinium Myrtillus L.)
Flavonoids are a class of secondary metabolites in plants that are involved in many important functions. Various flavonoid compounds have also been reported to be beneficial for human health. Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus L.) is the characteristic field layer species in boreal forests and the fruits of bilberry are rich in anthocyanin pigments, a subclass of flavonoids. In the present work, fla...

Introduction Vaccinium myrtillus (bilberry) is a member of the Ericaceae family, and is also known as European blueberry, huckleberry, whortleberry, or blueberry. It is a shrubby perennial plant one to two feet in height and can be found in the mountains and forests of Europe and the northern United States. Its branches contain alternating, elliptical, bright green leaves, and its flowers, whic...
متن کاملIsolation of high quality RNA from bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus L.) fruit.
A simple and efficient method is described for isolating high quality RNA from bilberry fruit. The procedure is based on the use of hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB), polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), and beta-mercaptoethanol in an extraction buffer in order to eliminate the polysaccharides and prevent the oxidation of phenolic compounds. This method is a modification of the one described fo...

Simultaneous comparison of bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus L.) and blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum L) fruits for their anthocyanin composition, antimicrobial and antioxidant activity is reported. The aim of this study was to investigate and to compare anthocyanin composition, antimicrobial and antioxidant activity in bilberry and blueberry fruits and their skins. The investigations revealed that ...
